The Frank Kent 106.9 The Ranch Battle of the Bands may be over for 2024, but that doesn’t mean we have to stop talking about how AMAZING it and the Derrick Days festival was!
After a little weather scare on Friday night before the block party, the main stage lit up for what would be a wonderful weekend filled with music and entertainment.

Friday Night Block Party : Super Kilo filled the night with their signature fresh originality and fully modern arrangements, covering everything from Hip Hop and Rap to Alternative and Indie Rock.

Saturday Kick off: Our favorite Indie Folk from local purple haired Raquel Lindeman for breakfast!

Saturday Morning: Blues & Soul from the amazing Eric George!

The BATTLE OF THE BANDS!
Chaser Crouch drew the first battle slot and brought his fabulous originals and country covers.

Ghosts of Hill County drew second, and killed it with their brand of Texas Red Dirt with tastes of southern rock and blues.

Rounding out the battle was Howard County, sexy Texas Country with a Louisiana influence and southern rock flair.

Our three judges tallied their score sheets and delivered us the narrowest margin of a win that we have EVER had, with second and third place tying and the winner edging them out by JUST ONE POINT! Congratulations to Ghosts of Hill County, our 2024 Battle of the Bands Winners!

Finally, Saturday’s grand finale act was Jay Statham, who delivered a great set of original and covers to wrap up a most wonderful day of music.
